Civil Engineer

Port Taranaki is strategically important to the economic development of the Taranaki region.  We have embarked on a transformational strategy to enable us to strengthen our competitive position as we head into the future.  We are seeking a self-motivated civil engineer who is skilled in all facets of project delivery and who takes pride in achieving high quality results with minimum supervision.

 

This is a key position within our engineering team at Port Taranaki and will require the appointee to design, manage, and project lead in the repair of reinforced concrete structures and other civil projects as required.  Ideally the successful candidate will have experience in all aspects of concrete technology.

 

The appointee must be tertiary qualified with a minimum of NZDE or equivalent qualification and at least 5 years’ experience in the construction or engineering consulting industries.  

 

To be successful in your application you will also need:

 

  • Good verbal and written communication skills with report writing experience
  • Good computer skills with competence in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project with AutoCAD skills (latest version) desirable
  • A flexible attitude to working hours
  • Contract administration skills and experience
  • The ability to be comfortable working over water from floating craft
  • Be a NZ Citizen or holder of a relevant visa and resident in New Zealand
  • A current full driver’s license
